John Patrick Fitzpatrick is a cinematographer from Long Island, New York. He grew up filming skateboarding, playing ice hockey, and learning to see life through a lens. With encouragement from his mother, Josephine, he went to film school and has spent the past fifteen years in the camera department—working as a loader, assistant, focus puller, operator, and now DP.

His work spans short films, commercials, and music videos, with recent credits including Sam Raimi’s Send Help as the 2nd Unit DP under Bill Pope. John is currently in pre production for his next feature White Sands. He has been mentored by Sol Negrin, ASC, Ron Fortunato, ASC, Ludovic Littee, Andrew Wonder and Bill Pope, whose lessons continue to shape both his craft and his collaborations.

At home, John is a husband and father. He lives in NY with his wife, Nora, and their son, Cooper. He finds balance in simple things that remind him why he first picked up a camera.
